Behind the Scenes: Preparing for the Grand Opening
Getting to this point has not been easy. For a little over a year now, I have grappled with two massive application processes in order to achieve my goal of working with Medicaid for respite care. Those two applications, Medicaid and Program Approved Service Agency (PASA) application, have been my main priority for the past year. I am proud to announce that, as of today, Starfish Pathways is officially a PASA and able to work with CES/SLS medicaid waivers.
Getting Medicaid/PASA approval was a significant milestone, but it pales in comparison to the reality of running a non-profit. While my experience with Best Buddies in college gave me some insight, I didn't fully grasp the complexities involved in managing an organization like this. Immediately after medicaid approval, I got to work on this website. I got into this line of work because I want to help as many families as possible. In order to do that, I plan to personally train my care providers. I am confident in my ability to overcome the adversities that come with running a business. The challenge excites me, and I am eager to see where this journey takes me!
